While it's gaining popularity as a nootropic in Western societies, lion's mane has been integral to Chinese and Japanese medicinal practices for centuries. Our aim is to craft a drinkable routine that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit—and lion's mane is our nod to mental well-being.
Chaga
Chaga is a mushroom that grows on birch trees. Eastern cultures have been drinking chaga for centuries for its overall benefits and soothing properties. We added it to our OG blend because it's chocked full of antioxidants and supports a healthy immune system.
Reishi
Reishi was added to support a healthy immune system and to promote relaxation. This mushroom has been used in Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years and is commonly called the “king of mushrooms” for its adaptogenic qualities. Our founder lived in India for some time and fell in love with the tradition and benefits of masala chai. Chai is a blend of ingredients like naturally brewed and flash-dried black tea powder and 100% certified Organic powdered spices: ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper, cinnamon and cloves. Primarily cinnamon was added for taste, but nothing in MUD\WTR is added for taste alone. Does :rise Cacao contain caffeine?
:rise Cacao contains a fraction of the caffeine found in coffee. On average, coffee contains 90-100mg of caffeine. That can vary up to +/-30mg, depending on the beans and the roasting method, according to the FDA. Meanwhile, :rise Cacao has around 35mg of caffeine per serving.
Is there sugar in :rise Cacao?
Nope. There are no sugars or sneaky sweeteners added. If it's not sweet enough for ya, try adding some of our own :sweetener. It's the least-bad sweetener money can buy.
Where are your products made?
MUD\WTR started in and operates out of Venice, CA. All of our mushrooms are American-grown, while the rest of our ingredients are sourced from all over the world, before being dropped off at our production facility by peregrine falcon.
Where are your mushrooms from?
All of our mushrooms are grown in the U.S.A., baby. We work with producers in California and Nevada, but only the very best of 'em.

It sure is. Whole30 HQ has made an exception to their "no oats and/or sorghum on the label" rule for MUD\WTR, as we use organic oats and sorghum to culture the mushroom blend. But because oats and sorghum are not present in significant amounts in the final product, Whole30 determined :rise Cacao is still Whole30-Approved® and compatible with the program.
